Cookie Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
Summary
We only use the cookies that keep you logged in and keep things secure, including a couple of short-lived ones while you sign in with Discord, Roblox, or Google. No ad-tracking cookies, and we don't sell anything collected through them. Turn them off and you just won't be able to stay signed in.
This Cookie Policy explains how Bloxbook uses cookies and similar technologies at bloxbook.lol.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help websites keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate securely.
2. Cookies we use
All of our cookies are strictly necessary, first-party (set by bloxbook.lol), and signed or HTTP-only so they can't be read by other sites or altered.
Session (bloxbook_session, 14 days): keeps you logged in. Without it, core features like posting and messaging cannot work.
Signed-in accounts (bloxbook_accounts, 14 days): the accounts you've signed in to on this device, so you can switch between them without signing in again. Logging out of an account removes it.
Account switch (bloxbook_switched, about 20 seconds): tells the next page to play the “switched account” animation. It holds no personal information.
Sign-in with Discord, Roblox, or Google (bloxbook_oauth_state, 10 minutes): set when you choose “Continue with …” or “Link”. It holds a random one-time value that protects against forged sign-ins, the security code needed to finish signing in, and where to take you afterwards. It is only sent back to our sign-in addresses and is deleted when you return.
Finishing sign-up (bloxbook_oauth_pending, up to 20 minutes): if you sign in with one of those services for the first time, it holds the details the service shared (its ID for you, your username and name there, your email address, and a link to your profile picture) while you pick a username or link an existing account. It is deleted as soon as you finish or cancel.
Age check (bloxbook_age_gate, about a day): if someone enters a date of birth that makes them under 13 at sign-up, this stops the form from being retried straight away with a different date. It stores no personal information.
Other sites' cookies: when you check out you are sent to PayPal's own pages, and when you choose “Continue with Discord”, “Roblox”, or “Google” you are sent to that service's own pages. Those pages set their own cookies under their own policies. Bloxbook doesn't set payment or third-party cookies.
3. Preferences
We store your preferences (such as opting in to see 18+ content, or who can mention you) with your account rather than in cookies. These settings are applied when you are signed in.
Your theme and “Reduce motion” choice in Settings → Display are saved in your browser's local storage on that device. They are never sent to us.
4. What we don't do
Bloxbook does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
5. Managing cookies
Because our cookies are strictly necessary to run the service, disabling them will prevent you from signing in. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will sign you out.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies evolves. The latest version will always be available on this page.
